RWM 2016

DAF Trucks goes to RWM ’16 at the NEC (Hall 5, Stand 5T90-W91) as the preferred supplier of utility-specification chassis to the Local Authorities and waste / recycling sectors, while its overall market share of 30% (above six tonnes) continues the built-in-Britain brand’s 21-year dominance of the UK truck business. With two trucks on its Stand (see accompanying ‘Exhibits’ press release), visitors to RWM ’16 will also notice a ubiquitous DAF presence throughout the Show.

“Visitors to this year’s show will see no shortage of DAF product on many of the exhibitors’ stands,” said Phil Moon, Marketing Manager at DAF Trucks, “underling our ability to produce dedicated truck chassis to meet a massive range of precise requirements in the waste and recycling industry. Our DAF ‘Construction’ models,” he said, “are perfectly suited for many of the more arduous waste and recycling sector applications, and are designed for on- / off-road operation where rugged durability is a pre-requisite.”

DAF Transport Efficiency

With operating costs front-of-mind for Local Authorities and waste management operators, visitors to the DAF Trucks stand at the NEC at RWM ’16 this year will find the ‘DAF Transport Efficiency’ programme provides an extremely effective weapon in the battle to keep running costs down. The DAF Transport Efficiency programme also encompasses DAF Trucks’ comprehensive range of customer support services; DAFaid, DAF MultiSupport R&M packages, DAF Parts, PACCAR Financial and DAF Telematics –combining to provide operators with a total transport solution.

Tip, Skip, Hook & Grab – bodied trucks, immediately available

More specifically for waste and recycling operators, DAF Trucks’ Tip, Skip, Hook & Grab programme DAF Trucks continues to make a limited supply of ‘in demand’ bodied vehicles for immediate delivery. Under its ‘Skip, Tip, Hook & Grab’ programme, DAF Trucks customers primarily in the utilities, waste and construction sectors will be able to choose from a range of trucks including 18t skip-loaders, eight-wheel tippers, tipper-grabs, and hook loaders. Potentially, customers could have a bodied vehicle on the road within days, subject to finance, rental arrangements or any detailed specification modifications.

“With the waste, recycling and construction industries buoyant at present,” continued Phil Moon, “we recognise that a good number of customers require vehicles at short notice. With the help of our industry-leading body-builder partners, we can sensibly make available a small stock of bodied, ready-for-the road trucks to help customers with their short-term availability requirements,” he said.
